Mother’s Day Special: NBA Stars Honor Their Moms

Blessings from ESPN to all the mothers out there, but today we're focusing on a special breed - the maternal powerhouses behind the hoops. Happy Mother's Day, ladies!

These women carry a legacy beyond breakfast in bed and kisses goodbye. They are the nurturing heart in a storm of three-pointers and defensive rebounds.

"Any NBA star player isn't just born; it's a Mother-creation."

Nothing gets past Lisa Brown, Christian's mom, a savvy ball-shooter from Missouri herself. Did the apple fall far from the tree? Not a chance. Her boy's netting rings impressed out there.

The Denver-heights, it seems, had something in the air for Jaylen, literally born in the Mile High city. Nicole Williams, his mom, has surely been a supportive backbone for him - a peakmotherhood, if you will.

And let's not forget the game-side mothers. Erlene Mortell -sweet Lou Dort's mom - was spotted in the crowd, a proud supporter. Jamal’s mom, Sylvia Murray, was also present, adding a dose of family love to the court.

So here's to the mothers - the unseen playmakers, the off-court coaches, the biggest fans. Their love and passion translate into each dribble. And if you don’t believe us, might as well check out our tribute video to them.
